Welcome to the Balıkesir University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) with its six departments (Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics, Public Finance, Political Science and Public Administration, and International Trade and Logistics). Since its foundation in 2006, our Faculty has contributed to social and administrative sciences.
There are 10 Professors, 14 Associate Professors, 12 Assistant Professors, and 7 Research Assistants on the academic staff. There are one Faculty Secretary and six administrative personnel on the administrative staff.
The Faculty aims to train youths who are independent and analytical thinkers, people-oriented, and have problem-solving skills. With the help of Erasmus+ and other international exchange opportunities, the Faculty creates a global vision by hosting international students from all around the World.
Balıkesir is situated on rising ground above a fertile plain that drains to the Sea of Marmara. It lies about where the ancient Roman town of Hadrianutherae lay. In the early 14th century, Balıkesir was an important town of the Turkmen Karasi emirate, which was soon absorbed into the Ottoman Empire.
The City is an important tourism destination in the Marmara Region with the coasts on the Aegean and the Marmara Sea, unique bays, islets, mountains, and thermal springs. It is one of the best tourism destinations in Turkey and has a unique climate including the Mediterranean, Black Sea, and Marmara climate combination.
Erdek, Kapıdağı, Avşa, Marmara, Saraylar, and Ekinlik should be seen. You can also visit the Kirazlı Monastery, Kyzikos and Daskyleion ancient cities, and the Manyas Bird Paradise National Park. Susurluk is known for its famous toasted sandwiches and ayran (a Turkish drink made of yogurt). Zağnos Paşa Mosque, Kuvayi Milliye Museum, and Karesi Bey Tomb in the city center are worth visiting.
Edremit, Burhaniye, Gömeç, and Ayvalık are the towns you should visit in Balıkesir. In Ayvalık, you can see Devil's Feast and enjoy the marvelous sunset. You can also swim on Sarımsaklı Beach. Edremit and Altınoluk, lying below the Kaz Mountains (Mount Ida), are known for offering thermal, mountain, and sea options and fresh air.
