GERMAN LANGUAGE COURSE FOR CHILDREN - 2
ABOUT THE COURSE
This course serves as a continuation of the beginner’s German programme designed for Year 3 and Year 4 pupils aged 8–10. It focuses on developing the language skills of children who have already acquired the basics at the introductory level. The lessons once again make use of games, songs, stories and interactive activities to ensure the learning process is both enjoyable and effective.
At this level, children learn more words, begin to use simple sentences more fluently and develop their ability to express themselves through short dialogues.
THE AIM OF THE COURSE
The main aim of this programme is to help children consolidate their basic knowledge of German grammar, expand their vocabulary and express themselves more confidently. By the end of the course, students will:
- They will be able to describe themselves and their surroundings in greater detail,
- use more words and expressions related to everyday life,
- actively participate in simple conversations,
- ask and answer questions using short sentences,
- and reach a level where they can better understand what they hear and follow instructions.
TEACHING METHOD
Lessons build on the knowledge children have acquired at the previous level. The play-based learning approach is continued, with learning supported through role-play (drama), pair work, visual materials, stories and educational videos.
Activities are planned to encourage children’s active participation, and topics are introduced progressively each week. Pupils’ progress is monitored regularly and feedback is provided to parents.
WHY THIS COURSE?
This course aims to take children’s knowledge of German to the next level whilst helping them gain the confidence to speak. Students begin to use the language more actively, their ability to express themselves improves, and their motivation to learn increases.
Thanks to the fun and supportive learning environment, children not only learn German but also start to use it.
